FAQ's

Common questions asked by parents visiting for the first time:

Who will care for my child while I’m in service?

Each of our children’s ministry volunteers are required to participate in orientation and ongoing training sessions, which include age-level training, class planning, and thorough review of our safety and security policies. All children and youth ministry volunteers are required to consent to a background check. This detailed process ensures that we will provide your child with the best possible care in a safe and secure child-friendly environment.

How do I check my child into class?

At the time you check your child into their classroom, an attentive and trained volunteer will greet you. We will ask you for information specific to your child, (i.e., allergies, feedings, prayer requests, etc.) and then assign your child a check-in number that is specific to them. We will provide you with a check-in tag which identifies your child’s check-in number. Your child will only be released to the parent/guardian who checked them in and by returning the check-in tag. You must indicate at the time of check-in if you authorize anyone else to pick up your child. To ensure proper security, your child will not be released without presentation of your corresponding tag.

In the event that we need to contact you during service, your child’s number will display on the screens in the sanctuary. If your infant or toddler cries, our caring team of volunteers will immediately attempt to console them. If we are unable to do so, we will contact you immediately.

What should I bring?

We are committed to help your child discover who Jesus is and to help them further develop their relationship with Him, through prayer, praise & worship and offering. Although it’s not required, we encourage you to send an offering with your child (ages 2-11years) so that they are able to participate in this form of worship. We also ask that children between the ages of 6-11 yrs. come to church prepared with their Bibles.

Specific for Children Ages Birth - Two Years:
Please label the following personal items with your child's first and last name BEFORE arriving at your child's class.

  1. Disposable diapers or pull ups;
  2. A pacifier or other comfort item;
  3. A complete change of clothes in case of feeding or potty accidents; and
  4. A premeasured bottle or cup of milk, formula, juice or water. (This is a good practice even for mothers who nurse.)

What will my child be doing while I’m in service?

Every class will consist of the following: playtime, praise & worship, Bible story and Bible verse, interactive activities, prayer and snack time (snacks for Preschool only).

Infants and toddlers will also experience the power of God’s Word, as we pray and speak God’s Word over them while we change diapers and care for them.

What snacks are available for my child?

Snacks are provided in our Preschool rooms every service. On occasion, snacks may be provided in our school age rooms as well.   Please inform your child’s classroom team at the time of check-in, if your child has any allergy information that we should be aware of.

What is our wellness standard policy?

We operate a well-child environment. For the protection of all the children in our ministry, we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We request that you not place your child in children’s ministry while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us to keep our Children’s Ministry a healthy place!
